Italian water frog


The Italian Water Frog (Pelophylax bergeri) is a species of frog in the Ranidae family. It is found in France and Italy. It is really closly related to the Pool Frog and looks vary simular. Infact another name for it is The Italian Pool Frog so you mistake it for the pool Frogs in the UK

Its natural habitats are rivers, intermittent rivers, swamps, freshwater lakes, intermittent freshwater lakes, freshwater marshes, and intermittent freshwater marches. It is not considered threatened by the IUCN.

Whilst trying to re-introduce Pool frogs to the UK these frogs were accidently introduced aswell. There are estimated to now be even up to 60+breeding pairs,
